« Working with Marianne was not only a pleasure, it was also very easy.
I’d been looking for a film editor for this specific project for quite some time without succeeding in finding the « right » match. I knew it would be tricky as it revolved around a personal and rather intimate topic.
I have had a particular love for the ocean-especially for dolphins and whales- since a life changing event in my teens. The ocean has shaped a great part of who I am today and for years, I’ve taken pleasure in finding ways to express the emotions and states it inspires within me by way of writing and video art.
This time I wanted to create a series of poems illustrated with film, music and sound. My wish was for an immersive, somewhat sensory experience to pull in the viewer into a feeling of oneness with the oceanic world.
I was looking for a creative partner and intuited it would have to be somebody not only with an artistic sensibility but with an emotional one as well.
Marianne was just that person. She picked up the « vibration » right away and was very attentive to my original input for the kind of piece I was hoping.
The result confirmed my intuition: it was lovely because it felt like a true collaboration. She stayed true to my artistic universe while enriching it with her own talent, professional experience and sensitivity. »
